One of the perks of Blacksheep membership is fun and inclusive social group rides for all levels of riders https://www.blacksheepmtb.com/group-rides/#1618781153730-715c68d9-f572. We have lots of group rides on the events calendar for this year https://www.blacksheepmtb.com/our-events/ but to make all this fun stuff possible (and sustainable!), we need volunteer ride leaders and sweeps. In particular, we are looking for women to help lead or support the women’s social rides and for folks to help lead/sweep on Monday night social rides so we can offer multiple groups for riders from beginner to advanced.

Blacksheep is holding a Ride Leader Orientation at 6:30 pm on May 16 to get new (or returning) ride leaders and sweeps tuned up for the season. The orientation will take place at the big Boulevard Lake Parking lot across from LPH https://goo.gl/maps/hWdD47oARhph8H5L6 . We will go over what leads/sweeps do, cover some basics needed for group rides to make sure all riders stay safe and have a great time, and do a relaxed group ride together. All riders 18+ are welcome at this info session and there is no cost. Attendance is not a commitment, so come on out even if you are just curious and want to learn more (plus there’ll be snacks!). If you have questions about the orientation or cannot attend the orientation but are interested in helping as a ride leader or sweep, get in touch at info@blacksheepmtb.com

Note that you definitely don’t need to be an expert shredder/the fittest/the fastest to be a great ride leader! Many of our group rides are beginner level. If you are a generally confident rider (low intermediate level and up), have a familiarity with the trails, are friendly and approachable, and want to share your love of riding with others this summer – we want you!
