Race #5 – XC Short Track

After a couple weeks break we are back at it with race #5, XC short track. If you are unfamiliar with the short track race format (also called XCC), the basic idea is that it is fast and short. XCC courses are generally not very technical, very wide, and include only moderate climbing. Courses are generally about 1km in length and repeated 3-6 times with the goal of a 15-18 minute race (for all adults categories) and about 10 min for the Lambs. The race is run in “heats” so there is room for lots of passing and exciting, close finishes. This makes for an excellent spectator race, so if you’d like to come and watch a race this year this is the race to watch! The race course will be similar to what we used for last year’s short track and this year’s Race for the Cheese. A short course within the Trowbridge/Kinsmen park field and surrounding trails will be constructed using cones. The trail will be simple to follow and explained for everyone before the race begins.

Lambateur Course
Like we did during the Race for the Cheese the Lambateurs will be riding the same course as everyone else. If you have any questions about the lambs upcoming race please reach out to Ben via rides@blacksheepmtb.com
