Welcome new and returning Blacksheep members!

Thank you for supporting Blacksheep MTB club and mountain biking in the Thunder Bay area!

With an enormous year last year and no slowing down in sight, we are expecting another amazing year. We wanted to put together some resources and information for any new and returning members. We have a lot of information that is available to the public on our website. Below you will find many different sources of information you may want as a Blacksheep member.

If you are curious what exactly we do as a club or what we accomplished in 2021 you can download our annual report as a .pdf here:
https://www.blacksheepmtb.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/2021-Blacksheep-Annual-Report_Finished.pdf

For any member looking for information on the existing trail network, a great and interactive map with trail descriptions and photos can be found here: https://www.blacksheepmtb.com/trails/

During the winter and after any rain event the trails may be in a vulnerable position. Riding trails when they’re wet can cause ruts that will lead to trail damage. Help us and the rest of your fellow members enjoy the trails to the fullest by checking trail conditions here before riding: https://www.blacksheepmtb.com/trail-conditions/

If you are a new mountain biker or looking to refresh on some basics we also have a trail etiquette guide to make it easier to share the trails with others: https://www.blacksheepmtb.com/trail-etiquette/

If you are interested in learning about the additional work slated to complete the Trowbridge Forest Master Plan you can find that plan here:  https://www.blacksheepmtb.com/masterplan/

With COVID-19 restrictions still in effect we are in an uncertain time where planning social events can be difficult. We are working hard to provide some group rides, skills clinics and the other events that people have been asking for. As we continue to develop the schedule it can be found here: https://www.blacksheepmtb.com/our-events/

Make sure to check as events are added all the time.

To keep up on club news make sure you are signed up for the monthly newsletter. If you checked the “Keep me informed” box while signing up for your membership you’re already signed up! https://mailchi.mp/8813d05c02fc/blacksheepnewsletter

We also have a news section on the website where information about events, races and build days is often posted: https://www.blacksheepmtb.com/news/

If you are looking to donate some of your time this season please check out our volunteering information. If you create a Timecounts account it really helps us get a hold of you to let you know about volunteering opportunities and it also lets us keep track of how often you volunteer. Volunteering hours are a useful statistic for us when applying for grants. If you are looking to sponsor the club, help facilitate races, or build trails you can find more information here: https://www.blacksheepmtb.com/getinvolved/
