Global Fat Bike Day is this Saturday, December 7th, and the Blacksheep will be hosting a ride to celebrate! We will meet this at Trowbridge Falls Park – the ride begins at 11:00am, where we will proceed up into the fatbike trails of the Shuniah Mines to spend a couple hours exploring the trail network. While the day will start and end at the Trowbridge Falls parking lot, participants are invited for post-ride beverages at the Sleeping Giant Brewery at around 1:30pm. Let’s celebrate the big wheels this weekend!

The best part? This event is FREE for ANYBODY! There will be experienced ride leaders and sweepers, and riders of all abilities in between, so if you’ve always wanted to try fatbiking this will be a great way to get your feet wet (but hopefully you’ll stay dry!). Fatbike rentals are available at all three shops – Rollin’ Thunder, Fresh Air, and Petries – and they’ll be happy to answer any questions you may have about preparing for your first fatbike adventure.

As a bit of a disclaimer, the trails are not very snowy at this time, and there may be some slippery areas. Our ride leaders will do their best to avoid the rough stuff, but be prepared for a hard-pack ride – the winter wonderland conditions don’t look like they’ll be here in time for Saturday.

Hope to see you out there!
