XC Overall Season Points / XC Age Category Season Points / Other Season Awards

June 29 09 - Overall and Age Category Season Points and Awards are now posted: In case you were wondering, yes, we do keep track of the season points. Just click on the link above to see the points you have and the qualifying information. These will be updated on the weekend after a race as the priority is on getting the race results up ASAP. Does this impact your race schedule for the summer? Who knows which races your rival will be racing...hmmm...do you try to improve your standings at the Mt. McKay XC races (yes, it means riding uphill...uugh, but fewer people come out to the McKay XC so you might be able to move up in the standings with a higher finish and more points...aaaah), or push it harder at Shuniah and Centennial? Decisions, decisions.

June 24 09 - XC3 at Ailey Family Estates sponsored by Cook Engineering: Wasn't that a great course? Moderate climbs, fast open sections and dark, twisty trail, just the way we like it. Thanks to Marilyn and Keith Ailey for setting up their sweet singletrack and hosting the race! We set a new Wednesday night record as 61 riders were out to try the new course on the Black Sheep circuit. Even the 30 degree heat won't keep us away. Overheard at registration...it was suggested to Kevin Paradis that he ride 15 laps of the Lambateur course...he opted for the main trail. There are some revisions in the results as Kailey T. and Steven U. changed categories when we were getting started, and the changes didn't make it to the media reports, sorry about that. We are trying to improve as the season progresses, just like the riders. Speaking of revisions, here's the new look results.

June 12 09 - Pre-rides for June 24 XC3 at Ailey Family Estates. Pre-rides on Sunday, June 14 & Sunday, June 21 3:30 - 5:30pm at 6807 Mapleward Road, 400m north of Dawson & just past Leppanens Esso & the Intola Baptist Church - look for the bus house with cedar shakes.

June 10 09 - XC2 at Shuniah Mines sponsored by Cyclepath. Are we going to need hot chocolate and coffee at races from now on? Geez it was freezing and damp and foggy and muddy . . . it was fun though, wasn't it? Hope Brian Coutts and Joey Coote recover okay from their wipeouts and are back racing soon. In the race story of the night, check out how the Female Sport times compare to the Male Sport times. Way to go girls! Here's the results.

June 10 09 - XC2 at Shuniah Mines Pre-Race Factoids. Those who took the time to attend Sunday's pre-ride got an early look at the courses, not to mention a lesson from Keith Ailey on how to break your bike (sorry Keith . . . had to be said). For the rest of you, here is the scoop. Registration from 6 pm - 6:45 pm. Racing starts at 7 pm. See you there!

June 3 09 - Pre-ride for Jun 10 XC2 at Shuniah Mines. The pre-ride is planned for Sunday, June 7, from 3:30pm - 5:30pm. If you haven't been there before the access road is off of the westbound expressway lanes at the top of the hill (in the middle of a rock cut) that is west of the Current River bridge. Basically opposite the Centennial Park toboggan slides. Man they could really use a sign there, it would make it easier for directions. Do not park on the expressway.

May 24 09 - XC1 Mud N' Mayhem is on the books: The Mud N' Mayhem festival marks the true start of the XC season. 93 racers were blessed with a great day to renew old friendships and rivalries, and to have the most fun you can have on 2 wheels. For the results, clickety click

Note: If you have concerns about the results, please e-mail Michael Del Nin (mdelnin at tbaytel.net).

May 22 09 - XC1 Mud & Mayhem Pre-Race Factoids: Attention XC race fans! The Mud & Mayhem courses are set, prepared and flagged, and the weather forecast is stellar! The courses are the same that we pre-rode on May 16 09 so if you were there, you got an early look at them. Additional details can be found here. See you at the race!

Apr 18 09 - Event Schedule: The 2009 Event Schedule is now available on the, er, SCHEDULE page. The '09 registration and insurance forms are ready too, on the MEMBERSHIP page.

For those who are nostalgic (sniff sniff), check out the 2008 results . . .
